Artist's Statement

Why do I play music? What motivates me to get up every morning and practice long-tones and scales before I do anything else? What motivates me to work on reeds for hours every week, knowing that it's a neverending battle? And what drives me to strive for greater musical artistry everyday that I pick up my instruments? I think the answer is that I crave the joy and satisfaction that performing music brings to me. It feeds my mind, my body, and my soul. The reward is worth all the hours and hours of practice, no matter how tedious or frustrating it gets sometimes. Music flows through my veins, and every day I want to share my passion and my art with other people.
